Troubleshooting

PastePal quits by itself

PastePal is a background app. When your Mac runs low on disk space, macOS quietly closes background apps to free up space. There is no warning and no crash report, and PastePal does not get a chance to ask before it closes. This is a macOS behavior, not a crash.

To check:

  1. Open PastePal Settings โ–ธ Support โ–ธ Troubleshooting and click Open Storage, or open System Settings โ–ธ General โ–ธ Storage.
  2. If free space is low, delete or move files, then start PastePal again.

Your clipboard history is safe and is still there when you reopen PastePal.

To confirm macOS closed PastePal, run this in Terminal after it happens:

/usr/bin/log show --last 3d --predicate 'eventMessage CONTAINS "CacheDeleteAppContainerCaches"' | grep -i pastepal

A line mentioning com.onmyway133.PastePal means macOS closed it to free disk space. If free space is fine and PastePal still quits, email support with that log output.

PastePal does not start

PastePal has no Dock icon. Look for its icon in the menu bar. If the menu bar is crowded, other icons can hide it. Check Settings โ–ธ General โ–ธ Launch at Login if you expect it to start with your Mac.

Paste does not work

Pasting into other apps needs the Accessibility permission. See Permissions.

Still stuck?

Email support@indiegoodies.com with your macOS version and what you tried.
