Check Grammar
Check Grammar finds spelling, grammar, punctuation and style problems and lets you fix them one by one. It runs on your Mac with GrammarKit, so your text never leaves it and it works offline. English only.
Open it
- Action menu: Select text and choose Check Grammar in the AI group.
- Launcher: Press ⌃⌥Space and type
Check Grammar. - Shortcut: Give it one in Actions ▸ Menu. With nothing selected, it opens empty so you can type or paste.
Fix problems
Your text is on the left with problems underlined. The list on the right groups them into Spelling, Grammar, Punctuation and Style; click one to filter.
- Click a suggestion to apply it, or press ⌘1, ⌘2, ⌘3.
- Ignore (⌘I) hides a problem.
- Add to Dictionary stops a word from being flagged again.
- Fix All applies every fix with only one clear answer. Problems with several possible fixes wait for you.
- Rewrite with AI proofreads the whole text with your AI provider.
