Keep important clips

PastePal cleans up old history on a schedule. Here’s how to keep what matters and leave out what shouldn’t be saved.

Put clips in a collection

Collections are folders for clips you reuse: addresses, replies, code snippets. Create them in Settings ▸ Collections, then right-click a clip and choose Add to collection. They show up in both the Side Window and the Main Window. More

Lock or name a clip

  • Press ⌘L to lock a clip. Locked clips can’t be deleted until you unlock them.
  • Press ⌘I to open a clip’s details and give it a name. Names are searchable.

Clips that are in a collection, locked, or named are never removed by automatic cleanup. More

Choose how long to keep history

Open Settings ▸ General and set Keep history for. Deleted clips go to the Trash first.

Keep private things out

  • Settings ▸ Ignore: skip apps (like your password manager), content types, or text that matches a pattern.
  • Settings ▸ Allow: save only from the apps you list.
  • Pause tracking from the menu bar icon when you copy something sensitive. More
